Job description

We know that a business only thrives if our people are thriving. That’s why we always put our people first. Our global and diverse team would be happy to support you and challenge you to grow in many ways. Who knows where our joint journey will take you?

We are currently recruiting for a Commissioning & Warranty Technician to join us in our brand-new rail manufacturing facility in Goole. Reporting to the Commissioning & Warranty Supervisor, you will be responsible for the efficient handling of each assigned project during the project phases of commissioning and warranty, focusing on cost, time, and quality for all types of rolling stock vehicle equipment on completed vehicles, e.g., Highspeed, Commuter Rail, Metro, Light Rail, and Passenger Coaches.

We are looking for a self-motivated team player who will enjoy continually developing their skills through individual training plans in various tasks, activities, and systems to meet future project demands such as the Deep Tube Upgrade Programme (DTUP). There will be a need to travel and stay away from home for periods, depending on training needs or project locations, such as the test centre in Wildenrath, Germany, or other UK locations.

You’ll make a difference by:
  1. Coordinating operational commissioning, ensuring warranty is realized in accordance with customer-specific regulations and project requirements.
  2. Working as part of the UK team and the wider Global Siemens Mobility Commissioning team to identify and resolve issues at test tracks or depots, facilitating a smooth transition of new fleets into UK passenger service.
  3. Recording, clarifying, and escalating project-related problems and risks, managing their impact on time, costs, and quality.
  4. Undertaking maintenance activities alongside commissioning, following test procedures, and documenting results using digital tools.
  5. Identifying and rectifying faults during commissioning tests, escalating issues to relevant suppliers or engineering teams, and providing detailed, accurate reports for customers.
Your success will be grounded by:
  • A proven background in the rail sector with relevant skills aligned with company policies and industry standards.
  • Strong commitment to self-development and continual training for new project requirements.
  • Experience in fleet maintenance or commissioning and warranty testing, with a willingness to learn new skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other relevant tools.
It would be desirable to have:
  • Knowledge of IT networks (Profinet, TCP/IP) and systems, especially maintenance management and diagnostics.
  • Ability to speak German.
You’ll benefit from:

Our compensation package includes a competitive salary, bonus, holiday allowance, and pension. We also offer a flexible benefits scheme to tailor your benefits to your needs.
