Job summary

Cyngor Sir Ceredigion County Council is recruiting two Commissioning Officers to join our team in Aberystwyth. One post is permanent, the other temporary to cover maternity leave; both are 37 hours per week.

You will provide commissioning and brokerage advice for age-related social care services, working with partners to ensure value for money and high-quality, person-centred outcomes, with potential for secondment and support to return to your substantive post.

Job description

We are looking to recruit two Commissioning Officers to join our team. One post is a permanent position working 37 hours per week, and the other is a temporary 37 hour per week position to cover maternity leave.

We welcome applications from candidates seeking a secondment. It is recommended that line manager/employer permission is sought before applying to ensure you may return to your substantive post once the secondment has ceased.

On a day to day basis you will:

• Provide commissioning and brokerage advice to arrange and commission through age social care services in a timely, cost-effective manner, ensuring assessed needs and specified requirements are met.
• Contribute to the commissioning and contract management of social care services, including working in partnership and collaboratively with operational teams, care providers, Health Board colleagues and other stakeholders to ensure the provision and delivery of high-quality, person-centred services that achieve value for money.

We are looking to recruit an individual:

• With Knowledge of Social Care Sector.
• With an ability to work under pressure.
• With negotiation skills.
• With an ability to communicate in a multi-agency context.

We welcome applications from non-Welsh speakers. All successful applicants requiring support to learn/improve their Welsh language skills will be offered funded lessons, during work time, to help reach the desired standard.
