NHS Wales Joint Commissioning Committee in Wales is seeking a Commissioning Manager for Ambulance and National Programmes Directorate to support its newly formed structure.

You will work with NHS Wales, Welsh Government and provider organisations, guiding a designated portfolio, coordinating planning, stakeholder engagement and performance management, and contributing to contract management to deliver high quality, value-for-money services.

  • Support the Head of Commissioning to manage a designated portfolio within a Commissioning Directorate, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred services.
  • Co-ordinate the planning, stakeholder engagement, and performance management of the delegated portfolio to achieve the best outcomes for patients and the organisation.
  • Support the overarching contract management and review, leading on specific services or contracts across the Directorate, ensuring consistency to deliver high quality, equitable services delivering improved outcomes for patients and value for money.

Position: Commissioning Manager Ambulance and National Programmes Directorate (NWJCC)

Following the establishment of the NHS Wales Joint Commissioning Committee (NWJCC) on 1st April 2024 and a recent organisational restructure, we are seeking a Commissioning Manager Ambulance and National Programmes Directorate Joint Commissioning Committee (JCC) to support our journey as a newly formed organisation.

The NWJCC is a joint committee of the seven health boards in Wales, with a Chair and Lay Members. We support collaborative commissioning across Wales, with around 120 staff based in Mold and Nantgarw/Treforest.

Our mission to be The Centre of Excellence for Collaborative Commissioning, improving health and care outcomes across Wales. We commission around 220 services, from NHS 111 and ambulance services to specialised rare disease services, and mental health, operating a £1.14bn budget.
