Job summary

TALENTOMETRY LIMITED is seeking a Software Commissioning Engineer to deliver PLC/HMI installations across the UK in the Water Utilities sector. You will own project testing, perform FAT/SAT testing, and work on-site and remotely as required while contributing to the full project lifecycle from design to handover.

The role requires hands‑on experience with telemetry, signal testing, and strong commissioning leadership.

Qualifications

• Experience with PLC/HMI commissioning and control systems.
• Reading and interpreting electrical diagrams is essential.
• Willingness to travel and work away from home for short periods.

Responsibilities

Job description

Software Commissioning Engineer

Industry: Water & Wastewater

Tech: PLC, SCADA, HMI: Mitsubishi (GX Works 3), Allen-Bradley (Studio 5000)

Location: Hybrid (Office, Home & UK Sites)

Offer: up to £40k + Pension & Death in Service

We are working with a system integrator to recruit an experienced Commissioning Engineer to deliver new and replacement PLC/HMI installations across their major UK client base in the Water Utility sector.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands‑on experience with telemetry works, signal testing, and leading commissioning activities on site.

As part of the role, you’ll take ownership of project testing, carrying out internal and client software testing (FAT/SAT), configuring intelligent MCC components, and executing software modifications to snag lists. There is also the scope to get involved in the full project lifecycle, from process design and documentation through to final handover.

Qualifications

• Mitsubishi (GX Works 3, GT Designer 3) and Allen‑Bradley (Studio 5000, RSView) experience
• A solid electrical background with the ability to read electrical diagrams
• A full UK driving licence and the ability to work away from home for short periods
• Knowledge of process control within the Water & Wastewater industry (advantageous)
