Job summary

HRGO Recruitment is seeking a Commissioning Engineer to support pre-commissioning, testing and handover for telemetry and metering systems across the UK gas network. The role combines workshop, site and customer-facing tasks from the Speke facility.

You will ensure safety, accuracy and regulatory compliance while coordinating with internal teams and supply chains. Hybrid working is available with travel to customer sites as required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years' experience in a technical gas industry role.
• Experience with telemetry and metering systems is desirable.
• Knowledge of flow meters, ultrasonic meters and flow computers is advantageous.
• Experience with PLCs, such as Siemens or OPTO.
• Knowledge of remote I/O systems, such as Pepperl+Fuchs, is beneficial.
• 18th Edition, electrical inspection & testing and CompEx.
• SHEA Gas and/or IOSH Managing Safely would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

HRGO Recruitment is working with an established engineering and systems integration business to recruit a Commissioning Engineer.

You’ll work on specialist telemetry and metering systems supporting the UK gas network, including gas metering upgrades, telemetry projects and biomethane injection schemes.

This is a hands‑on role covering pre-commissioning, testing, commissioning and final handover, with a mix of workshop, site and customer‑facing work.

Location: Speke, Liverpool

Salary: £55,000 per annum

Working Arrangements

Based in Speke, Liverpool, with hybrid working available. The role involves regular travel to customer sites across the UK, including occasional short notice travel and working away from home.
