Job summary

WR Engineering is seeking a hands-on Commissioning Engineer to support testing, verification, and commissioning of pumps, chillers, filtration, instrumentation, control panels, PLCs & electrical systems across the UK and Europe.

The role suits an electrically strong engineer with solid mechanical knowledge, comfortable in customer-facing environments, and experienced in commissioning and FAT/SAT. Travel and varied projects provide broad exposure.

Qualifications

• Electrical engineering knowledge and hands-on commissioning skills.
• Experience in HVAC or industrial fluid systems.
• Strong understanding of electrical controls, PLCs, inverters, and instrumentation.
• Good mechanical knowledge and fault-finding ability.
• Ability to read schematics and travel across UK/Europe.

Responsibilities

• Carry out electrical & controls commissioning (approx. 40%) and mechanical commissioning (approx. 60%) of pumps, valves, filtration, and related systems.
• Support FAT/SAT procedures, documentation, and client witness testing.
• Conduct site-based functional testing, validation, fault finding and problem solving.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineering, and service teams.
• Maintain commissioning records, test docs, RAMS, and HSE compliance.
• Assist with O&M documentation and certification.

We're looking for a hands‑on Commissioning Engineer to support the testing, verification, and commissioning of pumps, chillers, filtration, instrumentation, control panels, PLCs & electrical systems.

This role is ideal for an electrically‑strong engineer with solid mechanical understanding, confident in customer‑facing environments and experienced in commissioning and FAT/SAT.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out electrical & controls commissioning 40% and mechanical (pumps, valves, filtration) commissioning 60%
• Support FAT/SAT procedures, documentation, and client witness testing
• Conduct site‑based functional testing, validation, and troubleshooting, fault finding and problem solving
• Work closely with project managers, engineering, and service teams
• Maintain accurate commissioning records, test documentation, and compliance with RAMS and HSE standards
• Assist with O&M documentation and certification

About You

• HNC/HND or degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
• Proven commissioning experience in HVAC or industrial fluid systems
• Strong understanding of electrical controls, PLCs, inverters, and instrumentation
• Good mechanical knowledge: pumps, valves, filters, pipework
• Confident reading schematics, fault‑finding, and resolving technical issues
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the UK and Europe
