Job summary

g2 Recruitment is seeking an experienced Commissioning Engineer to support and execute commissioning activities across large-scale energy infrastructure projects in the UK. You will ensure systems are safely tested, validated and handed over in line with project requirements.

Responsibilities include coordinating with managers, subcontractors and clients; carrying out commissioning across electrical, mechanical, EC&I and control systems; and delivering tested documentation and evidence for

We are supporting a leading engineering and construction organisation delivering major energy infrastructure projects across the UK.

They are seeking an experienced Commissioning Engineer to support and execute commissioning activities across complex, large-scale projects, ensuring systems are safely tested, commissioned and handed over in line with project requirements.

Responsibilities

• Support commissioning activities from pre-commissioning through to final handover.
• Execute commissioning programmes, procedures and test documentation.
• Coordinate with commissioning managers, subcontractors, vendors, consultants and client representatives.
• Carry out commissioning activities across electrical, mechanical, EC&I and control systems.
• Conduct testing, commissioning, witnessing, fault finding and system validation activities.
• Review commissioning procedures, test scripts, test packs and technical documentation.
• Monitor commissioning progress and report against key project milestones.
• Work closely with project, construction, engineering and operations teams to resolve commissioning issues.
• Ensure commissioning activities are completed safely and in accordance with project specifications and client requirements.
• Support system energisation, operational readiness, client demonstrations and final project handover.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Commissioning Engineer delivering major energy, power or infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical and/or EC&I systems.
• Experience carrying out testing, commissioning, fault finding and system validation activities.
• Strong understanding of commissioning processes, testing methodologies and project handover procedures.
• Experience working with contractors, vendors, engineering teams and client stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and reporting skills.
• Strong understanding of health, safety, quality and commissioning compliance requirements.
• Relevant electrical, mechanical or engineering qualifications preferred.
