Job summary

Beeby Anderson Recruitment client is a Building Services consultancy seeking an Electrical Commissioning Engineer to join their team in London. You will review commissioning documentation, plan tests, and witness all stages of electrical installation and system integration on live projects.

You will lead commissioning planning, monitor progress, report to clients, and ensure compliance with British standards. Strong UK commissioning experience and excellent communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree or HND in Building Services Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
• Proven UK experience in commissioning management.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems in building environments.
• Knowledge of British standards and building regulations.
• Excellent problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Experience developing commissioning programmes with critical-path milestones.
• Experience monitoring production to specifications and final sign-off.

Responsibilities

• Review commissioning related documentation and test plans.
• Identify risks and potential opportunities for the project.
• Attend commissioning meetings and witness tests.
• Witness pre-commissioning, commissioning activities and all system tests.
• Provide detailed client reports and a final summary once commissioning is complete.
• Ensure life-safety systems are tested in line with statutory authorities.
• Develop commissioning plan and monitor milestones throughout the project.

Job description

Our client is Building Services consultancy providing single source solutions to the construction industry, property owners and property managers. They provide solutions on all aspects of Building Services Commissioning and Client Verification and have been at the forefront of Commissioning Management for over 35 years. As a result of growth they are looking for a Electrical Commissioning Engineer to join the team.

Responsibilities will include the following:

• Review all commissioning related documentation
• Review the testing and commissioning process and plan
• Identify risks to the project and any potential opportunities
• Review and report against installation progress
• Review trade contractors method statements
• Attend regular commissioning meetings
• Attend off-site and factory witness tests
• Witness system pre-commissioning and setting to work activities
• Witness commissioning activities
• Witness of all integrated system testing
• Witness of all performance / environmental testing
• Witness testing of life safety systems in conjunction with relevant Statutory Authorities
• Provide detailed reports to the client at agreed frequency
• Issue a final summary report to the project team confirming that the services have been correctly installed and commissioned to specification
• Identify any outstanding works, snags or potential latent risks
• System commissionability reviews
• Development of the commissioning plan

When applying for this role as Electrical Commissioning Engineer you will have skills and/or experience in the following items in order to be successful:

• Degree or HND in Building Services Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• Proven UK experience in commissioning management.
• Strong understanding of Electrical systems and integration within building environments.
• Extensive knowledge and understanding of British standards and building regulations.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Development of the commissioning programme, including identification of the critical path and construction milestone drivers
• Production and installation monitoring to specification and standards
• Production of monitoring documents to track factory acceptance tests, method statement production, testing, commissioning and final acceptance and sign-off
