Job Description:

The Commis Waiter will work alongside chef de ranges supporting during service with food pickup, table service, clearing tables, station refills, and drink service. Responsible for polishing glassware, crockery, maintaining a tidy back of house, and working closely with the back of house team to ensure availability of clean plates and flatware. Also supports baristas and hosts as needed.

Responsibilities

• Know the menu and all served products.
• Deliver food orders promptly and explain dishes to guests.
• Act as a liaison between Front and Back of House staff.
• Assist with table setting and fetching tableware.
• Explain dishes professionally to guests.
• Check on guests, take additional orders, and refill water.
• Serve food and remove used dishes.
• Serve food safely and inform staff of guest feedback.
• Practice sustainable waste management and purchasing.
• Perform additional duties or work in different departments as required.

Health and Safety

• Report hazards and follow safety procedures.
• Be familiar with emergency protocols.
• Ensure safety of persons and property, adhering to laws and regulations.
