Job summary

What you’ll do

As a Junior Sommelier, you'll enjoy your work and take pride in delighting our guests:

  • Help guests choose the right wines to enjoy with their meals.
  • Work closely with the Sommelier and the restaurant team.
  • Learn about our wine menu and keep your knowledge up‑to‑date.
  • Help set up and maintain the wine service area.
  • Make sure guests feel welcome and enjoy their experience.

The items shared are the essence of a day in the life of a Junior Sommelier, but we'’ll make sure you are provided with specifics on how we care for our hotel. The operational hours of work are shift‑based and may be subjected to change.

What you’ll bring
Essential Skills and Experience
  • A friendly and helpful attitude.
  • Basic knowledge of wine or a strong interest in learning more about it.
  • Good communication skills—you like talking to people.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and take direction.
  • Organised and able to follow instructions clearly.
Preferred Skills
  • Previous experience working in a restaurant, bar, or hotel.
  • Any wine training or qualifications, such as WSET Level 1.
  • An interest in food and drinks and how they go together.
  • Confidence in serving guests at a luxury venue.
