Job summary

The Kitchen at Chewton Glen, in partnership with James Martin, seeks a Commis Chef to join our talented kitchen team in a luxury country house hotel setting. You will support the Head Chef and Chef de Partie, producing dishes to the highest standards in a rosette-aware environment.

Experience in hotel/restaurant kitchens is essential; rosette experience is desirable, and you will work in a small, guest-facing team within an open kitchen. Competitive hourly rate and perks offered.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a hotel or restaurant kitchen is essential.
• Rosette standard experience desirable.
• Confident working in a small team in view of guests in an open kitchen.
• Keen eye for detail, organisational skills and good communication with the team.

Responsibilities

• Assist Head Chef during service ensuring dishes meet high standards.
• Work with the brigade to run your section with pride.
• Be part of the team serving guests in the open plan kitchen restaurant.
• Liaise with Head Chef on possible improvements to dishes and service.
• Maintain presentation, taste, texture and quality at all times.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout your section and kitchen.
