Job summary

The Wordsworth Inn in Grasmere is opening its doors and seeking a Kitchen Porter to join our busy kitchen team. You’ll support the kitchen by maintaining the highest standards of food hygiene and helping with wash-up and equipment cleanliness.

You'll work with the team to deliver smooth service, follow the cleaning schedule, assist with basic food preparation, and stay flexible with duties as directed. If you’re eager to learn and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we’d love to hear from you.

With 55 bedrooms, 196 internal covers and 148 external covers, this is a substantial, food-led operation with ambitious plans, located in the heart of Grasmere.

You’ll Fit Right Inn

As Kitchen Porter, you’ll play a crucial role in supporting the kitchen team by maintaining the highest standards of food hygiene. Your positive attitude, teamwork skills, and willingness to learn will be essential as you manage the wash-up area, ensure kitchen equipment cleanliness, and assist with basic food preparation.

You’ll work closely with team members and customers, demonstrating confidence and courtesy in all interactions. This role requires flexibility and a commitment to personal presentation. You’ll be responsible for keeping the kitchen running smoothly by following the cleaning schedule and taking on other general duties as directed.
