Job summary

Parker's Tavern at University Arms in Cambridge is seeking a Commis Chef to support the kitchen team by preparing dishes and keeping a clean, orderly station. You will rotate between stations and follow the Chef’s directions to ensure high-quality presentation and timely service.

You will learn from senior chefs, develop your culinary skills, and work with a positive team. Good English communication and willingness to learn are essential. Competitive salary and meals on duty are provided.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of food preparation/culinary operations.
• Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
• Willingness to learn and develop culinary skills.
• Strong teamwork and communication in English.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of dishes to high standards.
• Maintain excellent kitchen hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety practices.
• Support senior chefs with daily mise-en-place.
• Ensure stock is rotated and ingredients are stored correctly.
• Help with deliveries and restocking.
• Comply with health and safety regulations.
