Sodexo Live! is hiring a Commis Chef / Kitchen Assistant for United Airlines Lounge Terminal 2. You will join a team of hospitality professionals delivering high-quality food and service in a premium lounge environment.

Role rewards include a competitive hourly rate of £14.06, with a 4 on 2 off shift pattern, and opportunities for permanent employment after probation and airport pass eligibility.

Qualifications

• Experience as commis chef or kitchen assistant in busy environments.
• Demonstrates customer service orientation and ability to work under pressure.
• Able to work in a fast-paced lounge and stressful setting.

Responsibilities

• Ensure correct preparation, cooking, presentation & service of food per kitchen management.
• Attend training sessions and follow training guidance.
• Pursue ongoing self-improvement and career development.
• Maintain high personal hygiene and presentation standards.
• Wear clean uniform and be punctual for shifts.
• Maintain kitchen presentation and pass aesthetics to high standard.
• Clean and maintain kitchen equipment for efficiency.
• Assist with deliveries, stock control, and Sodexo standards.
• Record-keeping, security and storage of deliveries.
• Assist with fire regulations and emergency procedures.
• Monitor equipment and report maintenance with management.
• Assist with ordering and storage of kitchen supplies.
• Minimize maintenance costs by keeping equipment in good condition.
• Follow proper storage, rotation and portion control as directed.

Package Description

• £14.06 per hour
• 4 on 2 off, ( lounge opening hours 4am to 10 pm, shift pattern will vary according to business needs , can be early start mid early starts and afternoon start shift patterns )
• Roles will be permanent once vetted and an airside pass is obtained for the airport – and on completion of the probation period

Main Responsibilities

• To ensure that you understand the correct preparation, cooking, presentation & service of food, as implemented by the kitchen management team
• To be responsive to all training provided and to attend all training sessions
• To take responsibility for your own career path and continuous self-improvement
• Have excellent levels of personal hygiene and presentation standards
• Be correctly dressed in clean uniform at all times
• To be consistently punctual for all scheduled shifts
• Ensuring the aesthetic standards of presentation of the kitchen & the pass are excellent at all times from all areas of the kitchen and the team are consistently focused on maintaining this
• Clean and maintain all kitchen equipment to maximize efficiency & prolong life
• To order and accept all deliveries to Sodexo standards and to ensure that all stock meets both company and legal standards, as set out by the kitchen management team
• Assist in accurate record keeping, security and safe storage of all relevant deliveries
• To assist in the implementation all fire regulations and procedures and assist in evacuations as necessary
• Monitor all equipment & report any maintenance issues in cooperation with the Manager
• To assist with the ordering, storage and careful use of all kitchen supplies
• Maintain all Kitchen Equipment as well as possible to minimise maintenance costs
• Adhere to the correct product storage, stock rotation, food quality and portion control as set out by the kitchen management team.

• • Previous experience as commis chef or kitchen assistant, who has worked in busy and fast paced work environment
  • Calm and patient under pressure
  • Flexible and able to work the shifts mentioned
  • Able to work within a very busy lounge and stressful environment
  • Overall a passion for food
  • Demonstrative customer focus and service skills
