Job summary

The Arts Club is seeking a passionate Commis Chef to join our kitchen brigade in a professional hospitality setting. You will work alongside experienced chefs, gaining hands-on experience and contributing to high-quality food, hygiene, and presentation.

You'll develop culinary skills, support daily kitchen operations, and progress within a team that values learning and excellence. Excellent rewards and development opportunities are offered within a respected Arts Club environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Commis Chef or Kitchen Assistant in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment is preferred.
• Passion for food and hospitality with a willingness to learn and develop.
• Basic knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques is beneficial.
• Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support the Chef de Partie and senior chefs with the daily operation of your kitchen section.
• Prepare, cook, and present dishes to the highest standards.
• Complete mise en place and ensure your section is fully prepared for service.
• Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation guidelines.
• Help maintain excellent food hygiene, health and safety, and cleanliness standards.
• Assist with stock rotation, food storage, and minimising waste.
• Work collaboratively with the wider kitchen team to deliver a smooth and efficient service.
• Continue developing your culinary knowledge through training and hands‑on experience.
