Novotel York Centre, part of Accor, is seeking a Commis Chef to join our kitchen team in York. You will assist in preparing dishes, ensuring mise-en-place, and upholding food hygiene standards while contributing ideas to improve menus.

Job Description

As our next Commis Chefyou will be doing...

• Are curious about food, always willing to try new combinations and flavours

• Assist in the preparation of the dishes in a timely fashion and agreed standards.

• Ensure the availability of mise-en-place as required.

• Observe excellent food hygiene practice through the entire food chain from storage through to preparation and service.

• Actively share ideas, opinions and suggestions to improve the environment and menus

• Communicate effectively with the rest of the team and thrive for guest feedback

• Ensure compliance with food hygiene and Health and Safety standards.

• Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless communication and workflow

• Contribute to special projects and initiatives as required

• Perform other kitchen duties as assigned.
