A Day in the Life of a Commis Chef

What you'll be doing:

• Assist in preparing ingredients for various dishes, ensuring smooth kitchen operations.
• Work alongside senior chefs, gaining hands-on experience and refining cooking techniques.
• Maintain a clean, organized workstation, adhering to hygiene standards.
• Help manage kitchen inventory by preparing ingredients and monitoring stock levels.
• Perform basic cooking tasks such as making sauces, grilling, frying, and assisting with plating.
• Participate in cleaning duties to keep equipment and surfaces spotless.
• Learn and adapt quickly to kitchen procedures, contributing to a well-organized team.

What We Need From You

• Genuine interest in cooking and eagerness to learn in a professional kitchen.
• Previous kitchen experience is a plus but not essential; willingness to work hard and learn is key.
• Basic food prep knowledge and a desire to improve your skills.
• Attention to detail, especially regarding cleanliness and food safety.
• Team-oriented attitude, able to take direction and support colleagues.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment during busy periods.
