The role:

At our hotel, we’re looking for a Commis chef who are passionate about Cornwall and our local food and drink producers, and are eager to be a part of this county's incredible way of life. As a member of our team, you'll learn and work alongside others who prioritise our guests and support each other.

As the Commis chef in the Living Space Restaurant, you’ll bring culinary passion, creativity, and willingness to learn to detail to the team. Collaborating closely with the head chef and our other chefs, you'll support in crafting innovative menus,

What your days could look like:

• Carry out the preparation, cooking and portioning of all food dishes including team meals to the Hotels standards of quality and quantity.
• Maintain the Hotels standards of department and personal appearance, cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen areas.
• Comply with all instructions given by immediate supervisor.
• Prepare for the day’s business in accordance with projected need.
• Follow all schedules within the kitchen and completion of daily check sheets and temperature logs.
• Assist colleagues in stocking up when necessary.
• Maintain a high level of personal hygiene and cleanliness whilst in the work place.
• Maintain an organised, clean and safe work place, not only for yourself but also for those around.
• Flexible attitude to working hours and variable shift patterns

• NVQ level 1 or equivalent as a minimum
