Job summary

Thomas Franks Ltd in Bedford is seeking a Commis Chef to join our team at a prestigious contract catering location. You will work breakfast, lunch and hospitality, using fresh seasonal ingredients and cooking from scratch to our brand standards.

The role is 37.5 hours per week on a 52-week contract, with a competitive hourly rate of £14.60. You will be part of a supportive team, with opportunities for training and career progression, in a busy school environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a catering environment preferred.
• Able to work well in a team and follow brand standards.
• Reasonable written and spoken English required.

Responsibilities

• Provide breakfast, lunch and hospitality to service users.
• Produce food from scratch using fresh ingredients.
• Adhere to food hygiene, safety and allergen procedures.
• Assist with pot washing and general kitchen duties.
• Be a strong team player and contribute to a positive work environment.

Contract: Full Time , Permanent
Salary: 14.6
Hours: 37.5 per week

An independent pre-preparatory school with an outstanding nursery, located in the heart of Bedford for students from the age of 12 months to 9 years. Catering for about 120 students and teachers daily, we offer a core feeding of Lunch with some hospitality. This is a 52 week contract and operates Monday to Friday.

We are looking for a talented Commis Chef to join our team at one of our prestigious locations in Bedford.

You will be excited to work with fresh seasonal ingredients & regularly changing bespoke menus. You will be creative and have the opportunity to showcase your skillset.

Key responsibilities:

• To work well in a team, providing breakfast, lunch & hospitality
• To produce food for service using fresh ingredients, cooking from scratch and following the companies brand standards
• Ensuring company food standards are adhered to and wastage controlled.
• Ensuring all Food Hygiene and Health & Safety policies and allergen control procedures are followed.
• Experience of pot wash duties would be an advantage
• Great team player
