Job summary

Alfa HolidayGroup in Melrose is seeking a Commis Chef to join the kitchen team at Waverley Castle Hotel, Melrose. The role offers 40 hours per week with a fixed hourly rate of £14.67, including weekends, across split shifts.

You will assist with preparation, cooking and serving, while maintaining kitchen cleanliness and assisting with stock rotation and labeling. Training and progression opportunities are provided in a supportive, employee-owned environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar role.
• Passionate about cookery with demonstrable experience of working within a team.
• Strong communication skills.
• Understanding of all aspects related to food safety regulations.
• Ability to learn new skills quickly.
• Ability to work under the pressure of a busy kitchen whilst maintaining attention to detail.
• Positive, can-do attitude.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all aspects of the kitchen operation from preparation, cooking and serving of food.

Commis Chef Responsibilities:

As aCommis Chef you will assist with all aspects of the kitchen operation from the preparation, cooking and serving of food, to maintaining high standards of cleanliness in the kitchen at all times. You will be involved in stock rotation, labelling and cleaning of equipment to ensure maximum organisation and compliance. You will work closely with the Head and Second Chefs, making this an ideal opportunity for any candidates looking to progress their career in the kitchen.
