A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A COMMIS CHEF

What you'll be doing:

  • Assist in preparing ingredients for dishes, including chopping, slicing, marinating, and portioning to ensure smooth operation at each station.
  • Work alongside senior chefs across all sections, gaining hands-on experience and refining cooking techniques.
  • Maintain a clean, organized workstation, adhering to hygiene and food safety standards.
  • Support kitchen inventory by preparing ingredients, monitoring stock levels, and notifying chefs when supplies are low.
  • Perform basic cooking tasks such as making sauces, grilling, frying, and assisting with plating.
  • Participate in cleaning duties to keep equipment and surfaces spotless.
  • Learn quickly and adapt to kitchen procedures, contributing effectively to the team.
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
  • A genuine interest in cooking and enthusiasm for learning in a professional kitchen.
  • Previous kitchen experience is a plus, but a willingness to learn and work hard is essential.
  • Understanding of basic food prep techniques and a desire to improve skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, especially regarding cleanliness and food safety.
  • A team-oriented mindset, able to take direction and support colleagues.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, staying focused and reliable during busy times.
