Job summary

Greene King’s Ventures Hotels is seeking a Commis Chef to join the kitchen team and help prepare dishes to high standards. You’ll work closely with the kitchen brigade to ensure consistency and quality for guests.

You’ll gain hands-on training, contribute to a fast-paced service, develop food safety practices and stock control, and enjoy benefits including pension contributions and employee discounts.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of ingredients and dishes following established recipes and guidelines.
• Adhere to strict food safety and sanitation standards, maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment.
• Work collaboratively with the kitchen team and participate in training sessions to enhance culinary skills.
• Assist in inventory management, deliveries, restocking, stock rotation and cleaning stations.

As a Commis Chef, you will:

• Assist in the preparation of all ingredients and dishes following established recipes and guidelines, ensuring precision and attention to detail.
• Adhere to strict food safety and sanitation standards, maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment to comply with health and safety regulations.
• Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth workflow and take part in training sessions to enhance culinary skills.
• Assist in various kitchen tasks including inventory management, helping with deliveries, and restocking, stock rotation and cleaning stations.

What you’ll bring to the kitchen:

• Awareness of manual handling techniques and experience working with kitchen equipment.
• A willingness to learn and develop, participating in regular training sessions.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
• Previous experience working within a hotel/restaurant kitchen within a team.
