About The Role

The primary responsibility of a Commis Chef is to assist the Chef de Partie in food preparation and basic cooking tasks. You will rotate through different kitchen areas, such as vegetables, fish, meat, and sauces, usually on a six-month rotation.

Other Responsibilities Will Include

• Supporting all chefs in managing and delivering catering services, ensuring resident choice, dignity, confidentiality, and safety.
• Participating in meetings with residents and Heads of Departments to discuss catering functions and address dietary needs including cultural and religious preferences.
• Preparing nutritional food and beverages promptly and to high standards, in accordance with mealtimes.
• Preparing special diet meals as directed by the Chefs.

Our Ideal Candidate Must

• Hold a catering qualification such as City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2, NVQ, or equivalent.
• Hold a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
• Have at least 1 year of catering experience.
• Demonstrate compassion and a commitment to high-quality culinary services.
• Be adaptable and flexible to cover various responsibilities at short notice.
