Classic Lodges Limited in Ambleside is seeking a Commis Chef to join our warm, hospitality-focused kitchen. You’ll assist in preparing and presenting high-quality dishes while learning under the guidance of senior chefs in a fast-paced environment.

We value teamwork, food safety, and a positive attitude. This is a full-time live-out role with the option for live-in for the right candidate; typical hours are 40 per week over five days, with tips as additional pay.

The ideal candidate will assist in the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes while ensuring that food safety standards are met. Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of ingredients and dishes as per the chef's specifications.
• Maintain a clean and organised kitchen workspace, adhering to food safety regulations.
• Support senior chefs in food production and presentation, ensuring high standards are met.
• Help supervise kitchen staff and assist with training new team members.
• Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
• Participate in inventory management, including stock rotation and ordering supplies as needed.
• Contribute to menu development by providing feedback on dishes and suggesting improvements.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred but not essential; a passion for food preparation is key.
• Strong understanding of food safety practices and culinary techniques.
• Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Leadership qualities with a willingness to help supervise and mentor junior staff members.
