Restaurant Associates seeks a Commis Chef to support a nine-chef brigade in a fast-paced, high-volume setting, delivering fine-dining plated dishes, premium canapés and events from 7:30am to 4:00pm, Monday to Friday. You will contribute to mise en place, food preparation and presentation across premium hospitality contexts.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a professional kitchen is preferred.
• Interest in fine dining and premium hospitality.
• Good basic food preparation and knife skills.
• Understanding of kitchen hygiene and food safety standards.
• Ability to follow instructions, recipes and preparation specifications.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn from experienced chefs.
• Remain organized during high-volume service.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients and complete mise en place to required standards.
• Assist with preparation, assembly and presentation of canapés and fine-dining dishes.
• Follow recipes and presentation standards accurately.
• Assist with high-volume production for events and large-scale services.
• Maintain a clean, organised workstation throughout the day.
• Follow all food safety and health & safety procedures.
• Assist with deliveries, stock rotation, labeling and proper storage.
• Ensure ingredients and equipment are ready for service.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation across the kitchen.
• Demonstrate willingness to learn and take on more responsibilities.

Commis Chef – Fine Dining, Canapés & High-Volume Service

£15.40 per hour + Overtime | Monday–Friday | 7:30am–4:00pm

Join a highly skilled brigade of nine chefs delivering exceptional fine-dining cuisine, from refined plated dishes to premium canapés and high-end hospitality events. We are seeking a motivated and reliable Commis Chef to support the kitchen team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Your Role

• Prepare ingredients and complete mise en place to the required standards.
• Assist with the preparation, assembly and presentation of premium canapés, fine-dining dishes and event food.
• Follow recipes, preparation methods and presentation standards accurately.
• Assist with high-volume production for corporate events, hospitality functions and large-scale services.
• Maintain a clean, organised and well-prepared workstation throughout the day.
• Follow all food safety, hygiene and health & safety procedures.
• Assist with deliveries, stock rotation, labelling and correct storage of ingredients.
• Ensure ingredients, equipment and work areas are ready for service.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation across the kitchen.
• Demonstrate a willingness to learn, develop and take on additional responsibilities as your skills progress.

What You Bring

• Previous experience working in a professional kitchen is preferred, but we are open to chefs with the right attitude and willingness to learn.
• A genuine interest in fine dining, premium hospitality and high-quality food.
• Good basic food preparation and knife skills.
• An understanding of kitchen hygiene and food safety standards.
• Ability to follow instructions, recipes and preparation specifications accurately.
