Job summary

Perfect Placement is recruiting for a Commercial Vehicle Technician at a reputable main dealership in Bolton. This role offers a Monday–Friday schedule with no weekend work, manufacturer training and clear progression paths within a supportive team.

The successful candidate will service, diagnose and repair to manufacturer standards, with strong fault-finding skills and a full UK driving license. Main dealer experience is advantageous but not essential for a capable technician.

• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
• Ability to work independently and within a team
• High standard of workmanship with attention to detail
• Full UK driving license
• Main dealer experience advantageous but strong independent backgrounds considered

Responsibilities

• Perform servicing, maintenance, diagnostic and repair work to manufacturer standards
• Routine servicing and repairs including engine, transmission, braking, and major components
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical and electronic faults using diagnostic equipment
• Complete vehicle health checks and inspections, identify additional work
• Ensure accurate completion of job cards and repair documentation
• Adhere to safety standards and provide high-quality service
• Keep skills updated through manufacturer training
• Collaborate with aftersales team to provide professional customer service

Duties of the Commercial Vehicle Technician

• Perform servicing, maintenance, diagnostic, and repair work to manufacturer standards
• Conduct routine vehicle servicing and repairs, including engine, transmission, braking, and major component work
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults using advanced diagnostic equipment
• Complete vehicle health checks and inspections, identifying additional work requirements
• Ensure accurate completion of job cards and repair documentation
• Adhere to safety standards and ensure high-quality service delivery
• Keep skills updated through manufacturer training and industry knowledge
• Collaborate effectively with the aftersales team to provide a professional customer service experience

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Commercial Vehicle Technician, Service Technician, or Diagnostic Technician
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
• Ability to work independently and within a team
• High standard of workmanship with attention to detail
• Full UK driving license
• Main dealer experience is advantageous, but strong independent garage backgrounds will also be considered
