Job summary

Alternative Heat Ltd. is seeking a Head of Commercial to lead the business unit's commercial activities from our Head Office. You will drive financial performance, manage risk, and ensure contractual excellence across projects.

The role requires leadership of Commercial Managers and support teams, with a strong background in forecasting, cost control and strategic commercial development. A proven track record in delivering sustainable growth is essential.

Qualifications

Senior leadership experience with ownership and accountability.
Experience leading Commercial Managers, Quantity Surveyors, and support teams.
Finance-savvy with management accounts, cost allocation and forecasting capabilities.
Proven ability to set direction, develop leaders, and build engaged teams.
Owns commercial strategy, governance, cost control and financial performance.

Responsibilities

Lead multiple projects and teams to drive commercial success.
Turn plans into delivery on time and on budget, in line with contracts.
Drive efficiency while ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and risk management.
Build and maintain financial models to estimate and monitor project costs and margins.
Oversee cost allocation, cost accounting, and alignment with governance standards.
Collaborate with Manufacturing, Planning, HSE, Quality and leadership peers.
Identify risks and opportunities early and implement solutions.
Balance commercial priorities with resources and continuous improvement initiatives.
Shape a culture of accountability, commercial awareness, and pride across teams.
