Job summary

Construction Resources is recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager for their team in Liverpool. The role focuses on establishing a formal commercial function, improving cost control, forecasting, profitability and overall performance.

The successful candidate will own commercial operations, implement processes and systems, and manage aspects from CVR reporting to final accounts, working with subcontractors and internal teams to drive value and risk management.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in a Senior Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager role.
• Strong knowledge of cost control and financial forecasting.
• Experience implementing commercial processes and systems.
• Confident managing subcontractors, variations, applications for payment and final accounts.
• Strong knowledge of contract administration and commercial risk management.
• Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work independently and take ownership of the commercial function.

Responsibilities

• Establish monthly CVR and forecasting processes.
• Manage cost control, value and profit margins.
• Oversee variations and change management.
• Manage subcontractor procurement and accounts.
• Prepare and manage applications for payment.
• Develop and maintain cash-flow forecasts.
• Produce commercial reports for the business.
• Manage final accounts through to completion.
• Identify and manage contractual and commercial risks.
• Develop standard commercial procedures and systems across the business.
