Job summary

British Gas is seeking a Commercial Risk, Conduct & Governance Lead to support policy, governance and oversight across Product & Propositions and Marketing Compliance. The role entails embedding risk-aware decision-making and partnering with product managers and legal teams.

You will help drive governance activities, maintain records, and develop training materials while balancing commercial goals with customer outcomes and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in governance, risk, compliance, or product oversight in a regulated environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day governance processes and forums (Product & Propositions Governance, Marketing Compliance, Risk and Conduct Oversight).
• Embed governance practices that support business growth and good customer outcomes.
• Coordinate governance activity: scheduling, minutes, packs, tracking decisions and actions.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Propositions Leads, Partnerships, Marketing and Change Teams to ensure governance input during development and delivery.
• Create training materials on commercial policies and frameworks (governance and marketing compliance).
• Act as a champion for good governance, conduct and risk practices across the team.
• Maintain governance records, logs and trackers for audit visibility.
• Contribute to MI and reporting dashboards for senior stakeholders.
