Job summary

Gallagher is seeking a Commercial Property Underwriter to manage a portfolio of commercial property insurance risks. You will assess new business, renewals, and amendments, while building strong broker relationships and negotiating terms to secure profitable business.

Ideal candidates will have experience underwriting property risks, strong analytical skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with brokers. Certification progress (Cert CII/Dip CII/ACII) is a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience underwriting Commercial Property insurance.
• Ability to analyse property values, construction details, and claims history.
• Strong broker relationship builder and negotiator.
• Detail-oriented with commercial awareness and sound decision-making.
• Qualification in progress (Cert CII, Dip CII, ACII) is preferred.

Overview

Are you passionate about assessing and managing commercial property risks? We’re looking for a Commercial Property Underwriter to join our team. You’ll play a key role in underwriting and managing a portfolio of commercial property owners’ insurance risks. How you'll make an impact

• Underwrite commercial property risks, including residential and commercial landlords, mixed occupancy properties, and high-value portfolios.
• Assess new business, renewals, and policy amendments, ensuring compliance with company guidelines and regulatory standards.
• Build strong relationships with brokers, negotiating terms and pricing to secure profitable business.
• Monitor portfolio performance, identify trends, and take corrective action to meet growth and profitability targets.
• Support broker development initiatives and contribute to product development and underwriting strategies.

About You

• You’ve got experience underwriting Commercial Property insurance and a strong understanding of property risks.
• You’re skilled at analysing risk information, including property values, construction details, and claims history.
• You’re a great communicator and negotiator, with a proven ability to build strong broker relationships.
• You’re detail-oriented, commercially aware, and confident in making decisions.
• Ideally, you hold or are working towards a Cert CII, Dip CII, or ACII qualification.
