Job summary

Sellick Partnership (Legal) Limited, on behalf of a prestigious Legal 500 law firm, is seeking a Commercial Property Solicitor to join its team in York. You will draft, negotiate, and review contracts, leases, and licences, conduct due diligence, and advise on landlord and tenant matters.

You will handle acquisitions and disposals and liaise with clients, developers, and authorities. The successful candidate will have 3+ years PQE in commercial property, a strong knowledge of property and land

Qualifications

• 3+ years PQE in commercial property law.
• Proven ability to manage a broad caseload independently.
• Strong knowledge of property, land, landlord & tenant law.

Responsibilities

• Draft, negotiate, and review contracts, leases, agreements for lease, and licences.
• Conduct due diligence including title documents, searches, and planning consents.
• Advise on landlord and tenant matters, including renewals, rent reviews, and break clauses.
• Handle acquisitions and disposals of commercial premises, development land, and investment properties.
• Liaise with clients, developers, local authorities, surveyors, lenders, and other stakeholders.
• Register transactions with HM Land Registry and ensure SDLT compliance.
• Manage risk and AML/regulatory obligations.
• Provide clear, commercially focused legal advice tailored to client needs.
