Job summary

Right Match Recruitment Group is partnering with an established law practice in Arundel to recruit an experienced Commercial Property Solicitor to lead the property's department. You will manage a varied caseload and guide junior solicitors while developing client relationships and new business opportunities.

Commercial Property Solicitor

Location: Arundel, West Sussex
Salary: £50,000-£80,000+, depending on experience and any existing client following
Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week
Contract: Permanent, fully office-based

Right Match Recruitment Group is working in partnership with an established legal practice in Arundel to recruit an experienced Commercial Property Solicitor to take a leading role within its established property department.

This is an exciting opportunity for a solicitor looking to combine a varied legal caseload with team leadership, client relationship management and business development. The successful candidate will play an important part in supporting the team and contributing to the future growth of the department.

The Opportunity

You will manage a varied portfolio of commercial property work, with opportunities to become involved in wider property development and corporate matters. Relevant experience may include:

• Commercial property acquisitions and disposals.
• Drafting and negotiating commercial leases, renewals and related landlord and tenant matters.
• Commercial lending, remortgages and buy-to-let transactions.
• Residential lease extensions and other non-contentious property work.
• Development projects, including options, overage provisions and Section 106 agreements.
• Agricultural property transactions and multi-unit developments.
• Business and company share transactions, shareholders' agreements and associated commercial documentation.

You do not need experience in every area listed. A solid background in commercial property, together with expertise in some of the additional areas, would be welcomed.

Your Responsibilities

Alongside handling your own matters, you will help guide the department and support the development of its people and processes. This will involve:

• Providing guidance and supervision to solicitors and support colleagues.
• Helping maintain high standards of work through file reviews, knowledge sharing and constructive feedback.
• Identifying opportunities to improve internal processes and make day-to-day workflows more effective.
• Developing lasting relationships with existing clients and identifying opportunities to expand the department's client base.
• Building connections with business owners, senior managers and other professional contacts.
• Contributing to the department's commercial objectives and long-term development.

What Our Client Is Looking For

You will be a qualified Solicitor with at least 4 years' PQE and relevant experience in commercial property.

You should be confident managing your own workload, communicating with clients and working collaboratively with colleagues. Previous supervisory experience would be beneficial, as would an interest in business development and helping a department grow.

Candidates with an established client following or the ability to bring new business will be of particular interest. The salary package can reflect the experience, commercial value and client relationships the successful candidate brings to the practice.
