This is a new opportunity for a Solicitor or Senior Solicitor to join an established and ambitious Energy and Strategic Land team. The successful candidate can be based from any of the firm's offices, including Glasgow, Edinburgh, or Perth, and will handle commercial property and related work on energy transactions and projects.
Applicants should ideally have a minimum of 2 years’ post-qualifying property experience, but candidates with different levels of experience will also be considered. The team is particularly interested in dual qualified solicitors.
Previous experience in energy or strategic land is preferred but not essential if you have a proven background in rural and/or commercial property transactions. Experience with Sasine and voluntary registration processes is also preferred.
The team has an excellent track record in managing large energy, infrastructure, and strategic land projects, often coordinating with colleagues and external professionals on planning, construction, environmental, regulatory issues, rural and crofting tenure, corporate M&A support, banking and finance, and various sector-specific commercial and trading contracts.
Opportunities to develop other sector-related skills and to undertake secondment posts are regularly available for suitable candidates.
The team handles development and acquisition of energy projects onshore and offshore, ranging from small-scale to over 4GW capacity, as well as the promotion and development of strategic mixed-use developments, from small niche residential projects to 5,000-unit new town developments.
