Job summary

South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority is seeking an experienced Commercial Property Manager to oversee the day-to-day management of its property and transport estate in Sheffield. This fixed-term role supports asset management strategies, leads lease negotiations, and ensures compliance and value for money while working in a hybrid setup with three days per week in the office.

Responsibilities

• Manage SYMCA’s property and land portfolio to maximise performance, value and operational effectiveness.
• Support the development and delivery of asset management and property strategies.
• Lead property management activities including lease negotiations, renewals, tenant liaison and asset reviews.
• Monitor property performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, utilisation and value for money.
• Conduct inspections and audits to ensure compliance with lease obligations, statutory requirements and maintenance standards.
• Manage tenant-related matters, including income monitoring and working with colleagues to resolve issues where necessary.
• Maintain accurate property and asset records and support statutory reporting requirements.
• Lead the implementation and ongoing management of property and facilities management systems.
• Support procurement, contract management and supplier performance monitoring activities.
• Provide professional advice and support on property and asset management matters across the organisation.
