Role and Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities

As the Commercial operations analyst, you will help drive the end-to-end MX commercial planning process across all product categories and distribution channels. Your role supports the development and execution of category strategies using the 5Ps framework—Performance, Product, Place, Pricing, and Promotion.

You will build and refine planning tools, reporting systems, and operational processes to enhance efficiency, enable partner alignment, and empower category teams to deliver against strategic goals. A critical focus will be onboarding new product categories and facilitating data-driven decision-making to foster cross-functional collaboration and commercial consensus.

Key Objectives

Drive the development of a best-in-class commercial planning process and framework that enables data-led decision making and strategic alignment across all categories. Provide customized commercial reports, strong planning tools, and compelling presentation materials that enable category teams to achieve their commercial objectives.

Foster cross functional collaboration by integrating inputs and perspectives from category management, commercial finance, sales and marketing.

  • Provide guidance for quarterly planning through the development of tools and insights that bolster data-led category strategies and performance targets.
  • Reporting Excellence: Develop and maintain commercial tracking frameworks, ensuring visibility of deal progression, revenue & investment management and important metric alignment.
  • Operational Effectiveness: Manage the planning cycle, improve process performance and lead negotiation outcomes through partner consensus.
  • Sales & Revenue Growth: Partner with category leads to craft commercial plans that boost revenue, expand market share, and achieve core category goals.
  • Promotional Investment Strategy: Provide investment recommendations for B2C and B2B promotional spend, evaluating strategic fit, commercial value and alignment with category objectives and return on investment benchmarks.
  • Performance Tracking: Deliver best in class commercial deal tracking and performance reporting tools that monitor progress against targets and helps inform commercial decision making.
  • Performance Review and Introspection: Lead post cycle review sessions, pinpointing areas to stop, start or continue for ongoing improvement.

Critical metrics:

  • Timely closure of commercial deals aligned to the quarterly landmarks.

  • Delivering best in class commercial reporting, consistent across categories and automated as much as possible.

  • Supporting category specific revenue and market share achievement.

  • Successful integration of new product groups into the planning cycle.

  • High-impact introspection reporting and actionable feedback loops.

We are seeking a data driven, results oriented and analytical individual who is able to work across a matrix organisation with multiple partners to deliver a centralised planning process to achieve our ambitious commercial objectives:

  • Experience: Shown experience in category management, commercial analytics, or revenue growth management with a track record of delivering planning excellence.

  • Analytical & Data Driven: Proficient in handling complex datasets and financial models using advanced Excel, [Power Query/Pivot], SQL or other database management skills, translating analysis into impactful decisions.

  • Brilliant Collaborator: Adept at operating within a matrix organisation, aligning senior partners behind structured commercial negotiations. Confident and credible, able to present to a wide audience.

  • Self-Starter: Able to identify trends, issues and challenges with a real get up and go attitude. Responds positively to change and/or ambiguity.

  • Planning Expertise: Proficient in leading all aspects of cross-functional commercial cycles with precision, adaptability, and effective communication.

  • Commercial Skill: Deep understanding of financial drivers, investment important metrics, and the levers of category growth.

  • Negotiation Strength: Uses data-backed rationale to navigate complex negotiations. Innovative drive to find new ways of working or new solutions to overcome challenges.

  • Tireless and Result Driven: Able to continually critique and optimise performance with a positive attitude.
