As a Commercial Manager, you will provide effective commercial management and governance of SEA projects, bids, and all commercial offerings for the business area, working with Divisional Management, Bid, and Project Managers.

The Commercial Manager (Intelligent Transport Systems) will be based at our Bristol site. This role offers flexible working arrangements.

The salary for this role is up to £60k, depending on experience.

What you'll be doing

• Act as the primary point of contact with customers and subcontractors for all commercial matters related to contracts and bids. Provide independent oversight to ensure the business secures commercial agreements that minimize risk, maximize financial outcomes (profit and cash flow), optimize commercial opportunities, and comply with relevant standards and legislation.
• Negotiate and agree on customer contracts and other relevant commercial documents. Draft, negotiate, and finalize sub-contracts and major procurement agreements. Manage commercial relationships with subcontractors. Consult external advisory bodies on commercial best practices. Negotiate and agree on collaboration agreements such as Non-Disclosure Agreements, Teaming Agreements, and Royalty/IP License Agreements.

The skills you need

• Experience in local government procurement within restricted environments
• Background in transport/rail sectors
• Knowledge of Crown Commercial Frameworks
• Experience working in the public sector
• Expertise in contracting methods and T&Cs
• Understanding of pricing, contractual documentation, and bid negotiations
• Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills
• Previous line management experience
