Egis UK is seeking a forward-thinking Commercial Manager with procurement experience to join our expanding team, delivering high-value programmes across the Nuclear spectrum. This is your chance to drive commercial excellence, influence strategic outcomes, and grow your career across some of the UK’s most vital sectors.

Your Role & Impact

Reporting to the Nuclear Commercial Lead, you’ll be at the heart of our commercial delivery capability — supporting clients through guiding procurement, contract execution, post-contract delivery and contract close-out across multi-workstream programmes. You’ll collaborate with senior stakeholders, delivery teams, and supply chain partners to deliver commercial excellence, compliance and performance. Your leadership and technical ability will help shape smarter, safer, and more resilient infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Commercial & Procurement Leadership
  • Work directly with our key clients, providing excellent commercial and procurement expertise and capability across the delivery lifecycle. This may be through secondment arrangements and being embedded within the client organisation
  • Collaborate with planners, PMs, and client stakeholders to ensure commercial clarity
  • Oversee contract development, execution, management, supplier performance and risk mitigation
  • Ensure compliance with NEC3/4, FIDIC, UK law, and applicable regulatory frameworks
  • Guide procurement strategy and contract preparation across all phases
  • Build and foster strong supply chain relationships through performance-based contracts
  • Support construction teams in meeting delivery milestones safely and efficiently
  • Develop and build a strong industry network across clients and partners
  • Support work-winning teams by reviewing tender packs and identifying commercial risks
Project & Cost Management
  • Manage commercial portfolios working closely with colleagues and associated disciplines to deliver consistent and high-quality outcomes
  • Contribute to feasibility studies, benchmarking, business case development and value management
  • Lead cost planning, estimating, and final cost plan presentation
  • Manage post-contract cost variances, valuations, and change control
  • Oversee final account negotiation and post-project evaluation
Qualifications
  • A qualification in a related subject (e.g. Quantity Surveying, Construction Law)
  • Chartership in a related subject (or working towards)
  • Good commercial acumen and experience operating within client organisations
  • Procurement / Pre-contract experience (Public sector experience advantageous)
  • Strong financial modelling and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent client-facing and supply chain engagement abilities
  • Experience managing teams and mentoring junior colleagues
  • Sector experience in nuclear, water, environment, defence, rail, highways or other major/complex infrastructure sectors
  • Strong knowledge of CDM regulations and risk management
  • NEC3/4 contract expertise
  • Familiarity with the full construction lifecycle
  • A strong appetite for continuous learning and self-development
  • Fully conversant with all commonly utilised office IT packages as well as industry specific systems (e.g. contract management)
  • Valid CSCS card;
  • Willingness to work on-site up to 3 days per week (London or Manchester area)
