Job description

Commercial Manager - NDT

Application Deadline: 7 May 2025

Department: Sales

Employment Type: Full Time

Location: Oxford

Reporting To: Commercial Director

Description

Want to be part of a team delivering game-changing products? We are looking for an experienced Commercial Manager who will play a key role in developing and executing the strategic commercialisation plan to penetrate the NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) market with Adaptix 3D NDT solutions.

As Commercial Manager for NDT, you will leverage existing distribution networks, cultivate new relationships, and drive expansion efforts to promote the company's products and achieve market adoption. Taking a strategic approach, you will evaluate and prioritise key market opportunities, both geographically and by industry, ensuring that the company's products gain widespread acceptance and growth within chosen markets.

The Company

Adaptix Limited is transforming radiology through the development of innovative fast-acquisition, low-flux, deployable Digital Tomosynthesis 3D X-ray with applications across a multitude of global markets.

AdaptixNDT is taking this technology into the future of non-destructive evaluation (NDT) for Aerospace composites, Metal Additive Manufacturing and the Electronics supply chain. Computed Tomography 3D X-ray is too prohibitive because of high-cost (and running/maintenance cost), -weight, -power, and slow-speed, so AdaptixNDT is offering 3D internal visualisation at the point of diagnostics earlier in manufacture and through-life with a consistent digital output facilitating Digital Twins and NDE4.0.

Candidate ProfileAs our ideal candidate, you are educated to at least degree level, or have equivalent experience.

Key Responsibilities

Main duties and responsibilities:
  • Sales Strategy Execution: Lead the execution of the company's NDT sales strategy, targeting key market segments, to drive sustainable growth and achieve revenue targets. This includes overseeing direct and distributor-led sales channels to ensure optimal performance.
  • Sales Channel Management: Establish, manage, and expand NDT sales channels, including distributors and direct sales to meet aggressive growth objectives and enhance the company's market presence.
  • Market Opportunity Evaluation: Strategically assess and prioritise geographic and industry segments to ensure the company focuses on the most lucrative market opportunities.
  • Network Expansion: Identify and establish new distribution networks and expand existing ones to maximise market reach and adoption of the company's products.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the Commercial Director, Marketing and Communications Director, and the NDT Development and Engineering teams to align sales strategies with company goals and ensure seamless execution.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Skills:
  • Sales Execution: Ability to define, implement and execute comprehensive sales strategies that drive commercial growth and profitability for NDT products across key industrial sectors. Strong leadership skills to foster collaboration within the organisation and with external partners.
  • Industry Expertise: In-depth knowledge of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) applications, particularly in X-ray technology, across multiple industries (e.g., Aerospace, Automotive). Understanding of the strengths and limitations of different NDT methods.
  • Critical Thinking: Strong analytical skills to assess data, extract insights, and provide actionable recommendations that support business decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Strategic Business Planning: Familiarity with strategic planning and reporting practices, including an understanding of long-term business goals and the processes required to achieve them.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities to effectively engage with a variety of stakeholders, from industry leaders to operational teams, across different levels.
  • Fiscal Management: Strong understanding of budget management and financial oversight within sales operations, ensuring that all initiatives align with the company's financial goals.
  • Independent Judgment: Ability to manage confidential information with discretion and make independent decisions that drive business success.
  • Sales Focus: A results-oriented mindset, with a strong drive to exceed expectations and deliver exceptional sales performance.

Experience:
  • Sales & Technical Expertise: Proven experience in sales and technical roles within the Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) industry.
  • Track Record of Success: Proven history of meeting or surpassing capital equipment sales goals in the NDT industry, demonstrating strong business acumen and a successful sales approach.
  • Industry Relationships: Established customer and distributor relationships within the NDT industry, with a deep understanding of the market dynamics and opportunities.
  • Digital NDT Experience: Experience working with digital NDT technologies, particularly X-ray, is highly preferred.
