Job summary

Murphy is recruiting for a Commercial Manager to work with Energy on the Western Isles linear cable scheme. The role focuses on managing all commercial aspects, maintaining stakeholder liaison and delivering effective cost control and procurement strategies.

The ideal candidate is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor (MRICS) with extensive civil engineering/construction experience and strong knowledge of NEC contracts. Murphy offers a competitive package and strong development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Chartered Quantity Surveyor with MRICS or equivalent accreditation.
• Extensive commercial experience in civil engineering / construction projects.
• Expert knowledge of standard contract forms such as NEC.
• Strong understanding of programming techniques and project controls.

Responsibilities

• Manage all commercial aspects of the project and liaise with stakeholders.
• Conduct monthly cost and value reconciliation reviews.
• Handle contract changes, variations and contractor claims.
• Maintain project risk registers and ensure mitigation actions.
• Oversee procurement and cash-flow planning; improve final margins.
