Job summary

ODGroup in the City of London is seeking a Commercial Manager to lead multiple projects from tender to final account, ensuring on-time delivery, budget adherence and maximised gross profit.

You will oversee contract administration under JCT/NEC, manage subcontracts, and mentor the commercial team, while engaging with clients and stakeholders to protect commercial interests.

The role requires 5+ years in commercial construction or fit-out and proven experience with £10m-£30m+ projects.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience within commercial construction or fit-out.
• Proven experience managing projects up to £10m-£30m+.
• Strong knowledge of JCT contracts.
• Excellent negotiation and influencing skills.
• High attention to detail with strategic oversight capability.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the commercial management of multiple projects (Cat A, Cat B, refurbishment schemes).
• Support the Commercial Director in delivering financial targets and margin protection.
• Provide commercial input during tender, value engineering and negotiation stages.
• Contribute to business unit forecasting and financial planning.
• Manage project budgets from award through to final account.
• Prepare and review cost plans, cash flow forecasts and CVRs.
• Lead contract administration under JCT, NEC or bespoke forms and manage variations.
• Oversee procurement strategy and subcontract packages.
• Manage payment applications, valuations and final accounts.
• Lead and mentor Apprentice and Assistant Commercial Managers.
• Provide clear commercial reporting to senior leadership and attend client meetings.
