Job description

We're looking for a commercial manager to lead the way for exciting new opportunities

We're seeking a commercially astute and driven Commercial Manager to lead and oversee all commercial and contract-related activities. You'll play a key role in driving business profitability, managing risk, and supporting the strategic growth of the consultancy. This position is ideal for someone proactive, with a strong background in commercial management, ideally within engineering, construction, or professional services. Here at PartB, you'll join an open and collaborative work environment where you'll be supported and your hard work will be celebrated and rewarded. The role is primarily home working with the option to join us in any of our satellite offices in Glasgow, Cardiff, Belfast, Manchester or Isle of Man.

Main Duties
  • Lead commercial strategy across multiple projects and service lines
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, NDAs, and client agreements
  • Oversee bid management and support tender processes
  • Manage project budgets, cost control, and profitability analysis
  • Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and insurance requirements
  • Monitor commercial risk and implement mitigation measures
  • Liaise closely with technical teams, clients, legal advisers, and external stakeholders
  • Prepare commercial reports for leadership and support business planning
  • Assist in pricing strategies and rate card development
Key Skills & Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a commercial role, predominately within engineering, construction, or consultancy services
  • Strong understanding of contract law, particularly NEC, JCT, and professional services agreements
  • Proven track record of managing commercial aspects of high-value or complex projects
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Highly organised, with strong financial and analytical acumen
  • Experience in the fire safety or building services sector is advantageous but not essential
