Job summary

BRUSH Group is seeking a Commercial Manager to own the commercial requirements across our South Region. You will shape and drive the commercial strategy and financial reporting to meet business and project targets, and ensure contract requirements are fulfilled.

The role is hybrid, based across Hook (Hampshire) and Iver (Buckinghamshire), with homeworking. Travel to live project sites is expected, and you will lead the commercial and contract management team.

Qualifications

• BEng in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
• Proven track record in commercial management within construction.
• Strong financial and commercial acumen.
• Well-developed analytical, oral and presentation/communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide commercial input for tender negotiations.
• Handle contract management and administration.

• Manage cost capture and trading analysis (monthly/quarterly/yearly).

What's the role?

The Commercial Manager will be self-motivated, disciplined and commercially astute, taking ownership and responsibility of the commercial requirements of the business across our South Region. They will establish, shape and drive the commercial strategy and financial reporting to achieve business, project and functional targets.
They shall be accountable for the ongoing assurance of any contract requirements from our Customers. They will provide leadership, guidance and support to the commercial and contract management team and will demonstrate a deep understanding of the legislation and contractual conditions governing disputes resolution.
Working Conditions - The role will be hybrid working across our Hook , Hampshire office , our substation site in Iver, Buckinghamshire, and home. The expected working pattern is typically 2 days per week in Hook, 1-2 days per week in Iver, with the remaining working days(s) from home, depending on business and project requirements.

Core working hours are Monday - Friday , 40 contractual hours per week. Car allowance will be provided as part of the overall package. Due to the travel element of this role, a full UK drivers licence is essential along with flexibility to travel to live project sites.

Key Responsibilities:

• Providing commercial input for tender negotiations
• Contract management and administration

• Cost capture and control including completion of the monthly, quarterly and yearly trading analysis

What we're looking for:

• BEng in Quantity Surveying or similar degree
• Proven track record in commercial management within construction sector is essential
• Demonstrable financial and commercial acumen
• Well-developed analytical, oral and presentation / communication skills
• A creative, strategic and innovative approach to problem-solving
• Extensive experience of drafting effective contractual correspondence
• Demonstrable legal, contractual and construction knowledge and experience
• Confidence and ability to assert influence
