Job Title: Commercial Manager
Location: Rosyth, Fife + Hybrid Working Arrangements

The Role
As a Commercial Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Join our Naval Nuclear Commercial Team, providing support to the £1bn+ Major Infrastructure Project (MIP) portfolio.

Day-to-day, you’ll support to NEC4 construction projects where we are a key strategic partner to our customers, the MOD and the Royal Navy:

  • Provide commercial expertise and governance to internal stakeholders (finance, project teams, supply chain, senior management) for all prime contract (MoD) tenders and contract reviews, processes, policies and commercial risks.
  • Be competent and confident when interacting with stakeholders and will work to develop positive customer relationships in order to represent the company to negotiate price, NEC4 terms and scope.
  • Oversee the production of change orders to a Qualifying Defence Contract (QDC) together with gathering and assessing robust Appropriate Attributable and Reasonable (AAR) evidence to support contract change.
  • Act as an escalation point for high risk, commercial issues.
  • Provide advice and drafting in relation to client and supplier NEC4 terms and conditions, ensuring compliance with all internal processes.

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and requires regular travel to Rosyth on a weekly / monthly basis alongside home working arrangements.

Essential Experience of the Commercial Manager:

  • Knowledge of NEC contracts.
  • Demonstrable evidence of developing effective customer relationships and confident at negotiating independently within agreed delegations.
  • Good communication, presentation, networking and negotiation skills.
  • Ideally, working knowledge of MoD contract terms but, this is not essential.
  • Commercial experience in a regulated sector, preferably in a large and complex environment.

Qualifications for the Commercial Manager:

  • World Commerce and Contracting (WCC) (previously IACCM) or RICS qualifications are highly desirable.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
