A respected, long-established Sussex firm is looking to appoint a Commercial Litigation Partner to take on a genuine leadership position following the planned retirement of the current Head of Department.
The team has an excellent reputation, a strong existing client base and is highly profitable. The opportunity now is for someone who wants to lead from the front, develop the team and play a key role in the firm's continued growth.
You will handle a varied Commercial Litigation caseload, while leading and developing a department covering a broad range of commercial dispute resolution.
There is already a strong pipeline of work, with the team currently turning instructions away due to capacity.
You'll work alongside experienced lawyers and an exceptional litigation paralegal, helping mentor the next generation while bringing strategic direction to the department.
Contentious Construction experience would be beneficial but is by no means essential.

A following is welcomed but not essential. Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to generate new work over time are far more important.

Following an initial induction period, office attendance can reduce substantially, making this a genuine opportunity for candidates based across Sussex, Surrey, Hampshire, Kent or even London. Depending on the individual, the firm are open to 1 day p/w in the office, or even less.
