Venn Group, Birmingham, is seeking an experienced Commercial Litigation Partner to lead growth of its Birmingham practice with autonomy, a strong platform and support to develop your own client base and practice.

Open to Partners, Legal Directors or Senior Associates with a proven track record, you will manage a broad disputes workload, nurture relationships with Midlands clients, contribute to strategy, and mentor junior lawyers.

Job description

A highly regarded regional firm is looking to appoint an experienced Commercial Litigation Partner to play a key role in the continued growth of its Birmingham offering.

This is an excellent opportunity for an established Partner, Legal Director or Senior Commercial Litigation Lawyer who is ready to take the next step and wants the autonomy, platform and support to develop their own practice.

The Role

You will handle a broad range of high-quality commercial disputes, advising a varied client base on matters including:

• Shareholder and partnership disputes
• Contractual and commercial disputes
• Director and boardroom disputes
• Professional negligence claims
• Restrictive covenant disputes
• Business protection and other complex commercial litigation
• Alternative dispute resolution, mediation and settlement negotiations

The successful individual will play an important role in the development of the firm's Commercial Litigation practice in Birmingham. As such, this role offers genuine scope to build client relationships, develop new business and help shape the future direction of the team.

The Candidate

The firm is open-minded regarding background and will consider established Partners, Legal Directors and ambitious Senior Associates with a strong track record in Commercial Litigation.

You will ideally have:

• Significant experience handling a broad range of Commercial Litigation matters
• A strong reputation and established network within the Midlands legal and business community
• A proven interest in business development and client relationship management
• The ambition to contribute to the growth of a successful practice
• Experience supervising or mentoring more junior lawyers would be advantageous
