Commercial Legal Counsel & DPO (5+PQE)

Mainly remote (ad-hoc in-office requirements).

About the Company:

Our client is a global network of higher education institutions with campuses across Europe, Asia, and North America.

Key Responsibilities:

- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements (e.g., IP licenses, service agreements, partnership agreements) with a excellent understanding of data protection issues, and subject access requests.

- Collaborate with sales, marketing, and procurement teams to ensure agreements meet commercial and legal standards.

- Lead negotiations with customers, suppliers, and partners.

- Manage external counsel and corporate service providers.

- Handle a diverse workload, including commercial contracts, IP, litigation, and property matters.

- Provide corporate and M&A support, with experience in company law (banking/capital markets experience is a bonus).

Ideal Candidate:

- 5+ years’ PQE from a City or nationally recognized firm.

- Strong commercial experience, excellent academics, and ability to manage complex matters.

- Thrives in fast-paced, client-facing environments and demonstrates entrepreneurial teamwork.

- Skilled at mentoring junior team members.
