Job summary

McCarthy Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Commercial Manager to join a growing business delivering specialist technical services across environmental, surveying and infrastructure sectors. This is a newly created leadership role offering the opportunity to shape and develop a multidisciplinary technical function.

Working with senior leadership, you'll drive commercial performance, develop client relationships, support business growth and lead a team of technical specialists.

Qualifications

• Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent qualification within a relevant technical discipline
• Experience leading, mentoring or developing technical teams
• Strong commercial awareness with experience managing client relationships, quotations, tenders or project profitability
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Able to identify opportunities for business growth and continuous improvement
• A collaborative leadership style with a passion for developing people

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop a multidisciplinary technical team
• Drive the commercial performance of the department, identifying opportunities for growth and increased profitability
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants and key stakeholders
• Oversee quotations, tenders and technical project delivery
• Support business development activities and help secure new work
• Improve technical processes, systems and ways of working
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards
• Collaborate with operational teams to deliver commercially successful technical solutions
• Monitor team performance, resource planning and departmental objectives
