Position: Commercial Lead – IT and Digital

Location: Kingston upon Thames (Hybrid Working)

Type: Permanent

30 days annual leave entitlement

Initial: 4 days a week in the office, reducing to 1 day; Long term: twice a month, subject to needs

The Role

Seeking an experienced Commercial Lead – IT and Digital to develop and execute innovative digital strategies supporting multiple partners.

This role manages digital & IT procurement, contracts, supplier relationships, and governance, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and value delivery.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Developing and implementing a Digital & IT Service Plan and Category Strategy.
• Managing procurement processes and contract negotiations for IT and digital services.
• Serving as the SME for IT commissioning and supplier engagement.
• Ensuring contracts deliver value, impact, and continuous improvement.
• Engaging with stakeholders for market understanding and needs assessment.
• Mentoring colleagues to build commercial and commissioning skills.
• Deputising for the Commercial Manager – Digital & IT as needed.

Skills & Experience

• Strong background in IT procurement, contract management, and commercial leadership in complex/public service settings.
• Knowledge of procurement legislation, frameworks, and best practices.
• Commercial acumen, expertise in IT markets, risk, and value assurance.
• Experience with supplier relationship management and contract performance.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• CIPS Level 3 or equivalent, with at least 5 years in IT purchasing or contract negotiation.
