Job summary

Gowling WLG, a leading international law firm, is seeking an Associate to join its Commercial IT & Outsourcing (CITO) team in Birmingham or London. You will draft and negotiate commercial and IT contracts for private and public sector clients, working with partners and junior lawyers.

The role involves client liaison, business development, and managing deadlines across a busy pipeline. Ideal candidates are qualified solicitors with at least 1 year PQE, commercially minded, and able to build

Qualifications

• Qualified solicitor with practical experience drafting and advising on commercial contracts.
• Minimum 1 PQE.
• Experience in private and public sector contracts is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Advise on drafting and negotiating commercial & IT contracts.
• Take instructions, structure, review, draft and negotiate contracts.
• Liaise with clients and counter parties; supervise junior lawyers as appropriate.
• Build client relationships and contribute to business development.
• Run meetings and manage file tasks, including time recording and billing.
