Job summary

Lawes Consulting Group in Perth, Scotland is seeking a Commercial Insurance Account Handler to manage a portfolio of commercial clients from start to finish, ensuring covers are right, placed well, and renewed on time.

You'll work with senior brokers and account executives, developing knowledge of property, liability, motor fleet and package policies while building insurer relationships. Mentoring and CII qualification support are provided.

Qualifications

• Experience in a commercial lines account handling or broking role.
• Strong knowledge of commercial products such as property, liability, motor fleet, and package policies.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills, written and verbal.
• Well organised and able to manage workload to meet renewal deadlines.
• Understanding of FCA regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of commercial clients, handling renewals, mid-term adjustments and new business.
• Gather client information and prepare market presentations.
• Approach insurers, negotiate terms, and compare quotes to achieve best outcomes.
• Produce renewal reports, cover summaries and recommendations.
• Build strong relationships with clients and insurer partners.
• Spot cross-selling opportunities and gaps in cover.
• Maintain accurate records on the broking system in line with FCA and internal standards.
• Assist with claims queries alongside the claims team when needed.
• Help develop processes and ways of working as the business grows.
